I Am Tonic

I am Georgina — Marine Scientist, Herbalist, and Diver.
Tonic Apothecary® is where ancestral wisdom meets oceanic science — a healing blend of plants, purpose, and the power of water.

Tonic started simply — with me making tonics for my own wellbeing, just as my grandmother taught me. A Jamaican woman of the Windrush Generation, she passed down her knowledge of herbs, oils, and natural remedies that helped protect and heal our bodies from the harsh British climate. What she knew from experience, I came to understand through both practice and study.

Over time, what began as personal healing grew into something more. I became a qualified herbalist, making tailor-made tonics for others to help ease specific ailments, support balance, or simply promote everyday wellness. Later, that path naturally expanded into skincare, as I saw how much our skin, our largest organ, deserves the same care and nourishment.

As my life evolved, so did Tonic. Long before I trained as a herbalist, I was a diver — deeply connected to the ocean and committed to conservation. That bond with water has always been part of me. It was beneath the waves that I reconnected with myself. The sea didn’t just call me — it held me, reminded me of who I was, and revealed a language of healing that ran deeper than I ever imagined. A language that connects land and sea, skin and soul.

Tonic Apothecary® is the living expression of that journey. Each blend, jar, and drop is infused with the rhythm of the ocean and the roots of ancestral herbal wisdom.
